Dear Marc,

Greetings of the day and hope you are doing well and all is well with your family.

At the very outset I wish to thank you for your kindness, understanding and supporting me during my illness. I was pretty down with flu and with other medical complications was having a tough time but have managed to come through it well.

On 15th February, I set off for Sekhar Bali Village early in the morning with a few sarees, lungis, grocery packets, rice, medicines and school supplies in school bags for some needy villagers of the area.

On my way home I stopped to hand over some grocery supplies, medicines, a nighty and biscuits to a blind old lady who is soon going to leave us as her condition is soon deteriorating.

More in the next mail to you and more photos for your kind perusal.

Thanks and regards,
Uttara

Providing help for Dilshad who is almost blind in New Delhi

This is Mohammed Dilshad, 33, from New Delhi, India. Dilshad is an orphan boy who grew up in an NGO in Calcutta. At a very early age he suffered with severe tuberculosis  and almost lost his life.

He is physically handicapped as well. His eyesight was always poor as well and he is now almost blind as the pressure in his eyes is 30 whereas it should be 12 for his age.

His optic nerves are damaged as well. He just underwent a full eye checkup from a renowned eye clinic with the help of 100 Friends.

However there is nothing which can be done for him except to apply eye drops for the rest of his life which could preserve whatever little eyesight he still has. 100 Friends is covering all the medical tests and next 6 months medicine for a total of 200 dollars.
