Hello Marc:
Here is a recent photo of the first orphanage I started helping, in Cabanatuan, Philippines. They sew their own clothes, cook, clean, grow vegetables. As you can see, things are going well with a minimal amount of financing.
Sadly, as you know, most orphanages are not like this. Nicole and Sister Marcial's home has a long way to go. I did get everyone sleeping mats, pillows, clothes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and food. Your help will buy a hundred kilos of rice, loads of vegetables and we can now add protein, like sardines, fish and chicken.
I have some exciting news for you. I met a young lady in Bacolad who used to live on the dump site or under a bridge with her siblings. She is an amazing young lady and helps the Dominican Sisters there with helping street children. We have been working together for about 2 months now and we have set up 2 orphanages with over 200 children. Here is one of the orphanages below. I'll send another photo later of the other one. So far we (yours truly) have furnished the sisters and kids with sleeping mats and pillows, tooth brushes and toothpaste, rice, vegetables and on occasion sardines as well as school supplies. The kids are amazing and without my knowing it, went two days without food to help Uncle pay for the school supplies so that they could go to class.
Take care.
Patrick
