A wheelchair was given to Rajesh Mondal in West Bengal, India on December 5, 2020 (Video included)

 Dear Marc,

How are you and your family?

Here is the December Report for you.....

A wheelchair was given to Rajesh Mondal aged 32 years. He is a resident of Mograhat, Vill: Ghanshyampur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India.

Rajesh told me that when he was in Class X his legs started paining a lot. He was taken to Barasat Hospital where the Doctors examined him and took an x-ray of his leg and diagnosed that his legs were hurting because of nerve problems. He started taking medicines as diagnosed for two years but his pain did not decrease rather it increased...

Being poor and uneducated his mother started taking him to quacks and people who dwell in black magic but nothing good came of that...

After a few years of futile search Rajesh was taken to PG Hospital in Kolkata and the doctors examined him and concluded that he was diagnosed incorrectly and his nerves had become damaged and if he is able to collect $6,000 then they would conduct an operation of the lower spine....

As it was impossible for the family to provide that kind of money, Rajesh gave up all ideas of an operation and started making paper bags at home which his younger brother sells in the nearby shops. Now that he has been given a wheelchair he will be able to move around short distances on his own.

Expenses incurred:-

Wheelchair - ₹9,125 ($112)
Transport - ₹600 ($8)

Total Expenditure - ₹9, 725 ($120)

In case of any doubts or clarifications, please let me know.

Thanks and warm regards,

Uttara
