Uttara helping schoolchildren and elderly in Rajapur Village, West Bengal India March 4, 2023

Dear Marc,

How are you? Hope you and your family are all well.

I set off for Rajapur Village with 30 school bags in which school accessories were packed for small kids from Classes I to Class IV. I also carried 10 Grocery Packets for 10 Senior Citizens who were all ladies.

On arrival I was greeted by the kids while toothless smiles lit the faces of some old ladies who had been waiting for my arrival. A few old  ladies hobbled towards me and I greeted them and asked about their health. Most of them were suffering from various ailments and kept requesting me to get a doctor to treat them as they were in no position to buy medicines and travelling to the nearest Government Hospital I. E. Canning was useless according to them as the Doctors would attend them after an endless wait since morning and prescribe medicines which would mostly be unavailable and would get a few medicines for free from the hospital and would need to buy the rest.

After assuring them that I would try to get a Doctor and conduct a health camp, I handed them their groceries. Each packet comprised of rice, dal, soyabean, biscuit and soap.

Expenses Incurred:-
Grocery Packets - Rs. 300 x 10 = Rs. 3000= $36.71usd
School Bags - Rs. 250 x 30 = Rs. 7500 = $91.78 usd
School Accessories - Donated by a friend
Transport - Rs. 800 = $9.79 usd

Total Expenditure - Rs. 11300 = $138.29 usd

In case of any clarifications or doubts please let me know.
Have enclosed a few close ups, photos and videos for you.

Thanks and warm regards,
Uttara
