Support for families in West Bengal July 4, 2022

Dear Marc,

Greetings of the day and hope you are doing well and enjoying your time with Max.

Marc, the monsoons have already started in West Bengal and thank God it's cooler
now with the occasional downpours.

This month I distributed grocery items and some vegetables to 15 families, gave
Mr Sethi Chowdhury Rs. 1500 ($19) for his transport and food as he had come
all the way from Kakinara to my house and asked money to buy some food for
his family as he had not found any job with the jute mill he was working in still
closed, with no news of it opening at all. He had been asking for his cardiac and
pressure medicines so i bought his monthly medicines which cost Rs. 2,600 ($31).

The old lady lying in bed is counting her last days and she is getting weaker
and more sick with each passing day. I gave her the same groceries, biscuits
and vegetables and a packet of horlicks so that she can be fed biscuits dipped
in it as she is not able to eat any solid food.

Marc, with the ₹20,000 ($252) you so kindly sent when you heard about the school,
I have bought school accessories (small copies, big copies, erasers, pencils, drawing
copies, crayons some biscuits and toffees) for the 50 kids which cost ₹ 8,000 and
have kept aside ₹12,000 to pay the two teachers salary as will need to disburse
₹1500 each to the two teachers every month. With the ₹12,000 I will be able to
pay both the teachers for 4 months and you have helped taken a load off my
shoulder for the time being.

The children come most punctually to school and are fast learning and the community
people are very happy that their children feel happy and eager to come to school.
Just day before yesterday a friend of mine who works in Kultali BDO donated
150 saplings free to me and it was distributed to the school children and community
people who joyously received them.

That's all for now and in case of any doubts or clarifications please unhesitatingly
let me know.
